In 2024, CQUIN will continue supporting network member countries to deliver on their goals of enhancing the quality and coverage of person-centered HIV services with an array of activities, including monthly webinars, country-to-country learning exchange visits, communities-of-practice meetings, country engagement visits, DSD performance reviews, and more.
Beyond these activities, CQUIN will continue to engage countries and foster learning through its all-network meetings.
CQUIN will convene a total of three all-network meetings this year, starting in April with the Integrating Non-HIV Services into HIV Programs Meeting, where over 250 participants, including Ministry of Health representatives from all 21 network member countries, recipients of care, implementing partners, and global stakeholders are expected to attend to discuss person-centered HIV service delivery for non-HIV services, including family planning, TB preventive treatment, non-communicable disease services, and mental health services.
“This meeting will be extremely interesting and unique and very important in addressing long-standing gaps in person-centered care for people living with HIV who have other health needs,” said Peter Preko, MBChB, MPH, CQUIN principal investigator and project director. “We hope to see participation from various Ministry of Health stakeholders, including the program leads for Family Planning and non-Communicable Diseases. Their support is instrumental to achieving the goals of DSD 2.0.”
CQUIN will also host the second differentiated HIV testing services (dHTS) meeting, where countries share self-assessment results using CQUIN’s dHTS Capability Maturity Model. Country teams will also discuss key issues related to the differentiated HIV testing cascade, including person-centered testing approaches, that can enhance the coverage and quality of HIV testing services.
“This meeting will focus on sharing progress updates from countries, highlighting advancements made in implementing their action plans based on their baseline capability maturity model results from 2023,” said John Bosco Matovu, MBChB, MPH, MSc, CQUIN regional clinical advisor leading the dHTS stream of work.
In December, countries will again convene to share their progress on HIV treatment programs at CQUIN’s 8th annual meeting.
