CQUIN is pleased to welcome five new countries to its growing network. The addition of Burundi, Cameroon, Ghana, Rwanda, and Senegal brings the total number of member countries in the learning network to 19. The new countries represent CQUIN’s efforts to expand into West and Central Africa, creating additional opportunities for south-to-south learning, exchange, and collaboration across the continent.
“Given Burundi’s commitment to scaling up high-quality HIV programs, the CQUIN network will enable us to learn from other countries and share our successes and lessons learned,” said Aimé Ndayizeye, MD, director of Burundi’s National AIDS Control Program.
“In 2017, Cameroon adopted Test and Treat, based on a model of differentiated care,” said Léonard Bonono, MD, permanent secretary at the National AIDS Control Committee, Cameroon. “Cameroon is committed to scaling up and developing high-quality HIV programs. The CQUIN network will enable us to learn from other participating countries and to share Cameroon’s successes in this area.”
Stephen Ayisi Addo, MD, manager of Ghana’s National AIDS/STI Control Program, said, “we are pleased to join this network of countries to maximize the peer review benefits available through this network to support our national DSD implementation.”
“We are eager to participate in the CQUIN network and look forward to working together to advance efforts to expand access to effective HIV programs,” said Sabin Nsanzimana, MD, director-general of the Rwanda Biomedical Center, Ministry of Health.
Cheikh Tidiane Ndour, head of department for Senegal’s AIDS Control Division also expressed his interest in participating in the network.
“We are excited to have these five additional countries on board,” said Peter Preko, Mb.CHB, CQUIN project director. “Their presence will enrich the regional diversity of the network and foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices in differentiated service delivery within the network.”
CQUIN is looking to welcome additional countries before its annual meeting in December 2020. Stay tuned for announcements as the network continues to grow.
