Integration of Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment in Less-Intensive DART Models

Event Date: March 05, 2024 - 8:00am to 9:00am EST

Tuberculosis (TB) Preventive Treatment (TPT) given to people at the highest risk of progressing from TB infection to disease remains an important intervention to reduce morbidity and mortality of TB in people living with HIV. As differentiated HIV service delivery is being scaled up for antiretroviral therapy (ART) services, integrating TPT in less-intensive models and scheduling patient visits such that they can pick up ART and TPT medications at the same time, presents an important opportunity to accelerate the scale-up of TPT.

In this webinar, presenters from the World Health Organization provided an update and recommendations for TPT integration in DSD. Ministry of Health representatives from Nigeria and Mozambique also shared their experiences integrating TPT in less intensive DSD models in their countries.
